Wells Fargo is offering some enticing bonuses for new customers in 2024. If you're in the market for a new bank, check out the latest Wells Fargo bank promotions.
Wells Fargo Everyday Checking
Wells Fargo offers convenient banking solutions with a widespread network of approximately 4,700 branches and 12,000 ATMs. You can earn a generous $300 bonus by simply opening a new checking account with a minimum deposit of $25 and receive a total of $1,000 or more in qualifying direct deposits within 90 days of opening the account. To avoid the $10 monthly fee, you will need to do one of the following: receive $500 in direct deposits per month, maintain a minimum balance of $500, link your account to a Wells Fargo Campus ATM or Campus Debit Card, or be age 17-24.
How you earn it: Open a new Wells Fargo Everyday Checking account online or any qualifying checking account at a branch with a $25 minimum deposit by June 25, 2024. Then make at least $1,000 of qualifying electronic deposit in the first 90 calendar days.
How you qualify: The offer is only available if you don't have a Wells Fargo personal checking account. You won't qualify if you're a current Wells Fargo customer or you've received a checking account bonus from the bank in the past 12 months. The offer also isn't available to Wells Fargo employees.
Where to open an account: You can open the account online or in person at one of Wells Fargo's 4,200 retail branches. If you're opening the account in person, you'll need to submit your email address on the Wells Fargo website to receive a personal offer code and provide it to your representative in order to get the Wells Fargo bank bonus.
Monthly fees: There's a $10 monthly fee, but it's waived in the following circumstances:
Offer expires: June 25, 2024
Wells Fargo Clear Access Banking
Wells Fargo has about 5,200 branches worldwide, with over 13,000 fee-free ATM locations, and The Wells Fargo Campus Card Program offers banking services at 27 schools in 13 states. Wells Fargo also has a program where students can take advantage of CollegeSTEPS® planning resources, which includes exclusive access to over 7 million scholarships.
How you earn it: The Wells Fargo Clear Access Banking account is a checkless checking account with no overdraft fees. You can earn a $125 bonus when you open a new account online or in person and make at least 10 qualifying transactions within 60 days. Qualifying posted transactions include:
How you qualify: You're only eligible for the offer if you're not a current Wells Fargo customer and you haven't received a Wells Fargo checking account bonus in the last 12 months. The promotion isn't available to Wells Fargo employees.
Where to open an account: Open the account online or in person at a Wells Fargo branch with a minimum opening deposit of $25. To receive the bonus if you're applying in person, provide your email address on the bank's website to receive a personal offer code, then show the offer code to the bank employee who assists you.
Monthly fees: The account has a $5 monthly fee that's waived if:
Offer expires: June 25, 2024
Wells Fargo Way2Save Savings
The Wells Fargo Way2Save Savings offers a safe, FDIC-insured place to store savings, as well as numerous ways to withdraw and deposit cash. It has an extremely low APY (no tiers earn at a higher rate), but if in-person banking is important to you, this account could offer more flexibility than online banks.
Wells Fargo Platinum Savings
The Wells Fargo Platinum Savings account can offer higher APYs than most branch-based banks, but with the convenience that comes with a national bank. To qualify for the account's highest APYs, customers will need to maintain a high account balance and qualify for a relationship rate by linking to a Premier Checking account. The account's standard APY and relationship rate for linking to Prime Checking are not competitive with other high-yield savings accounts.
How you earn it: You can earn a $525 bonus when you open a new Wells Fargo savings account. To qualify, you'll need to deposit at least $25,000 in the first 30 days, then maintain a $25,000 balance for 90 days. You'll also need to apply in person, but first, provide your email address on Wells Fargo's website to receive a personal offer code. To receive the bonus, you'll need to give the code to the employee who assists you.
How you qualify: You're only eligible for the offer if you don't have a Wells Fargo personal savings account and you haven't received a savings bonus or promotional rate that required an offer code in the past 12 months. You also won't qualify if you're a Wells Fargo employee.
Where to open an account: Open the savings account in person at a Wells Fargo location, and provide the personal offer code you received via email.
Monthly fees: The Wells Fargo Way2Save Savings account has a $5 monthly fee that's waived if:
The Wells Fargo Platinum Savings account has a $12 monthly fee that's waived if you maintain a $3,500 minimum daily balance.
Offer expires: June 25, 2024
A few more things you should be aware of before taking advantage of a Wells Fargo promotion or any of the top banking bonuses:
Wells Fargo's checking account bonuses are fairly competitive. Checking accounts generally pay minimal interest rates (or no interest), so the welcome bonus typically matters a lot more than it does for savings accounts. If you've weighed the pros and cons of banking with Wells Fargo, a checking account bonus could sweeten the deal.
But the $250 Wells Fargo savings account bonus isn't quite so generous, given that you'll need to deposit at least $25,000 to qualify and that account APYs are below the national average. Many of the best online savings accounts pay 4.00% or higher. If you deposited $25,000 in a high-yield savings account with a 4.00% APY, you'd earn $1,000 in one year -- and that's with no bonus.
Make sure you're getting the best account for you by comparing savings rates and promotions. Here are some of our favorite high-yield savings accounts to consider.
