These are just a few of the reasons it's one of our favorite travel credit cards. The card has an annual fee, but many cardholders find the benefits easily offset the cost.

If you're looking for a travel card that offers serious rewards when you book hotels, rental cars, and flights, consider adding the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card to your wallet. Then be sure to use it whenever you make these purchases.

1. Booking hotels and rental cars

You'll earn 10X miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, but the high rewards rate isn't the only perk. You can earn an annual statement credit of up to $300 for travel purchases you make using the card.

Capital One also has two curated collections of hotels and resorts: the Premier Collection and the Lifestyle Collection. If you book a stay at a Premier Collection property using your Capital One Venture X Card, you'll get a $100 experience credit to use on things like spa treatments or dining, plus free daily breakfast for two and benefits like room upgrades and early check-in/late checkout when available.

The Lifestyle Collection offers a $50 experience credit when you book with your Capital One Venture X Card, plus room upgrades and flexible checkout, depending on availability.

Thanks to a new partnership between Capital One and Hertz, you can get complimentary car upgrades and expedited pickups and drop-offs through the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards loyalty program when you use your card to book rental cars. You also get auto rental collision coverage.

2. Buying plane tickets

If you're a Capital One Venture X Card holder, you earn 5X miles per $1 on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel. You can also transfer your Capital One miles to its dozen-plus airline transfer partners, most of which offer a redemption rate of $0.01 per mile. Another perk you'll value if you fly frequently is unlimited access to more than 1,300 airport lounges worldwide for you and two companions.

3. Paying your cellphone bill

If you pay your wireless bill with your Capital One Venture X Card, you'll get cellphone protection. The card offers reimbursement of up to $800 if your device is stolen or damaged. If your claim is approved, you'll be reimbursed for the cost of repairing or replacing your phone. A deductible will apply.

What about other purchases?

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card offers 2X miles on all other purchases, which isn't too shabby. You might be able to find higher rewards rates, particularly if you have a card with rotating bonus categories, but the card is still a decent choice for everyday purchases.

If you apply for the card and get approved, consider shifting your purchases to the card so you can take advantage of its generous welcome offer. You'll earn 75,000 Miles if you spend $4,000 on the card in the first 3 months.
