Details on the Chase Apple promotion
Chase points are always redeemable for Apple products, but normally, you get $0.01 per point. That's the same as what you'd get redeeming your points for cash back.
Right now, Chase is offering more value on these redemptions. The bonus amount depends on which Chase card you have:
- Chase Freedom cards: 10% bonus ($0.011 per point)
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card: 25% bonus ($0.0125 per point)
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®: 50% bonus ($0.015 per point)
Maybe you've had your eye on the iPhone 16 Pro, but the $999 price tag is out of your budget. With one of those Chase cards, you could pay for the purchase in points. You'd need 90,818 points with one of the Chase Freedom cards, 79,920 points with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, or 66,600 points with the Chase Sapphire Reserve®.
Don't have enough points to cover the purchase? Chase also lets you pay with a combination of points and cash. For these purchases, you can pay for up to 80% of the purchase price with cash.
Special offers like these are one of the reasons Chase has some of the most popular credit cards. For a full list of top card options, check out our expert picks for the best credit cards, including cards with cash back, travel rewards, and 0% intro APR offers.
How to buy Apple products with Chase points
Here's how to take advantage of this Chase promotion:
- Log into your account on the Chase Ultimate Rewards website.
- If you have multiple Chase cards, select the one with the points you want to use.
- Select "Shopping & Experiences," and then select "Shop Apple®" in the dropdown menu.
- Choose the Apple product you want to buy.
- Go through the checkout process and pay for your purchase in points, cash, or a combination of the two.
A quick word of advice: If you have multiple Chase cards, move your points to the one with the highest redemption value first. For example, if you have the Chase Freedom Unlimited® and the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, move your points to the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and use it to make the purchase. This way, you'll get $0.015 per point instead of $0.011.
To do this, select "Reward details," and then select "Combine points" in the dropdown menu. You'll be able to move your points between your Chase cards.
Should you redeem your Chase points for Apple products?
If you only have a Chase Freedom card, the Apple promotion is a good way to use your Chase points. You'll get 10% more value compared to redeeming your points for cash back. By using them for Apple products, you get a better deal.
It's not quite as clear cut if you have a Chase Sapphire card. Both of these cards also let you transfer points to Chase's airline and hotel partners. You can then use your points through that partner's loyalty program. For example, you could transfer Chase points to Hyatt and use them to book an award hotel stay. Or, you could send them to United Airlines, turning them into miles you can redeem for business-class airfare.
It's possible to get much more value from your points by transferring them, but it depends on what you book. If you have any trips coming up, you may want to save your Chase points. As a general rule, when you get a travel credit card, it makes sense to use your points for travel.
Overall, this Apple promotion isn't a bad redemption option. No matter which Chase card you have, you'll get a reasonable value for your rewards. If you'd like to make your next Apple purchase with your Chase points, do it by this Saturday to get the most value.
