How to Get a Robinhood Credit Card Made of Literal Solid Gold

Do you lack bling in your life? Are you feeling gold but giving silver? Fret not! Robinhood, the popular stock trading app, now offers users credit cards made of literal gold. We're talking 36 grams of precious metal here. No, I'm not making this up.

Sounds pricey. And fancy. And possibly out of my budget. It's not. It costs zero dollars to get the card while supplies last. But there's a catch (isn't there always?).

The catch: You have to be a referral wizard to qualify. Refer 10 users to a Robinhood Gold membership and get a solid 10k gold card or $1,100, depending. More details below.

How to refer people to the Robinhood Gold Card

Once you sign up for the waitlist, you can refer people to Robinhood. You can do this via the website or the Robinhood app.

Website: To sign up for the waitlist, navigate to the "Credit Card" section on the Robinhood website. Scroll to the bottom and enter your email address in the sign-up box. Robinhood will send you an email with an invite button. Send the email to referrals.

App: Sign up for the waitlist in the Robinhood app. Click "Invite friends" to send referral links to friends and family. You can send the invite links via text or email.

Once you've sent out invites, you're on your way to earning referral credits.

How to get 10 referral credits (and the solid gold prize)

Robinhood wants folks to do more than sign up for the waitlist. For one thing, you must be among the first 5,000 people to get 10 referrals. After that, the limited-time promotion ends.

To get credit for referrals, each person you invite must do the following:

1. First, they must sign up for the Robinhood Gold Card waitlist. Clicking your invites will direct them to a page where they can reserve their spots on the waitlist. The referred person must join the waitlist before subscribing to Robinhood Gold for the referral to be tracked and count toward the 10 required.
2. After joining the waitlist through your referral link, they must sign up for a paid Robinhood Gold subscription.
3. The person you refer can't be an existing Robinhood Gold subscriber.
4. They must make at least the first monthly or annual subscription payment for Robinhood Gold. If they start with a free trial (where available), they will only count as an eligible referral once they pay for their first month or year after the trial period ends.

People must join the waitlist and sign up for Robinhood Gold through your link, then pay the subscription fee. It's probably Robinhood's way of ensuring the referral program brings in paying customers.

What's the prize again?

You get a solid gold Robinhood Gold Card. It's an actual credit card that works like the regular stainless steel version. If you qualify for the reward but don't qualify for a Robinhood Gold Card, you'll get a $1,100 cash reward instead. It's one of many promos Robinhood offers.

Is the promotion worth it?

Not everyone will benefit from this referral program. But some might.

The promotion is worth gunning for if the following is true:
