It's always nice to relax before a flight, and if you're flying out of an airport with a Capital One Lounge, it's well worth the visit. Capital One opened its first airport lounge in 2021. Since then, travelers have consistently raved about its lounge designs and amenities.

In this guide, you'll learn how to get Capital One airport lounge access. We'll also cover the lounge locations, benefits, and what to expect when you visit.

Who can access Capital One airport lounges?

Anyone can access Capital One airport lounges. If you don't have a Capital One card that provides access, you can pay a $65 entry fee. For unlimited complimentary access to Capital One Lounges, you must be a cardholder or authorized user of one of the following credit cards:

Each card also includes complimentary entry for up to two guests per visit and special pricing of $45 per additional guest.

You can only visit Capital One Lounges when you're departing from an airport, not arriving there. You'll need a boarding pass for a departing flight. Access is only permitted within three hours of your flight's departure time, although there are reports that lounges don't always enforce this rule.

Capital One Lounge perks

Here are the perks you can expect at each Capital One Lounge:

  • Dining stations with chef-inspired small plates, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options
  • Grab-and-go food with healthy selections curated by local chefs
  • Full-service bars and coffee bars
  • Quiet work zones
  • Family-friendly areas with lower tables and chairs for kids
  • High-speed wifi

Some lounges also include other benefits, including workout areas, relaxation rooms, luggage lockers, and showers. You can learn more about each individual Capital One Lounge below.

Capital One Lounge locations

There are three Capital One Lounge locations: Dallas-Fort Worth, Dulles, and Denver. It also has a Las Vegas location in the works. Here are the details on each of the lounges that are currently open.

Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW)

  • Opened: November 2021
  • Hours: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily
  • Location: Terminal D, near Gate D22

This was the first Capital One Lounge, and the card issuer started strong. It has plenty of space at 10,000 square feet, with lots of seating options, most of which have power outlets nearby.

If you'd like a bite to eat or a drink before your flight, this lounge doesn't disappoint. The to-go stations are packed with quick, healthy items, including sandwiches, salads, yogurts, and juices. There are also dining stations with hot and cold food items.

The full-service bar and the coffee bar each have specialty beverages. At the full service bar, you can try a Yellow Rose Airport Pilsner from 3 Nations Brewing or frozen Irish coffee from a local bar, Nickel City. The coffee bar has lattes with several milk options from La Colombe and specialty coffee from Cultivar Coffee Roasting Co.

Here are a few more highlights of this feature-packed Capital One Lounge:

  • Don't want to wheel your luggage around the lounge? Store it in the secure luggage lockers.
  • Hoping to get some rest before your flight? This lounge has immersive pods with guided meditations.
  • Want to do a quick workout? Visit the cycling and yoga room for Peloton bikes and yoga mats.
  • Feel like freshening up? Pop into one of this lounge's shower suites.

Dulles (IAD)

  • Opened: September 2023
  • Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
  • Location: Main Terminal, just beyond TSA PreCheck security with access from Z-Gates, through an escalator or lift

The Capital One Lounge at Washington Dulles Airport measures 8,500 square feet. It's a bit smaller than the Dallas-Fort Worth location, but it still has ample seating and feels spacious. If you like watching planes take off and land, this lounge has a view of the runway.

This lounge's food and beverage options are fantastic, with delicious buffet and to-go options. At the bar, you can try a Pre-Flight Lager from Lost Rhino Brewing Company or a Cherry Blossom margarita (there are several cherry blossom-flavored treats here), to name a few options.

The coffee bar is also a standout perk. There's a latte art machine, yummy pastries, and to-go cups if you're short on time.

Likely due to its size, this lounge doesn't have as many amenities as the Dallas-Fort Worth lounge. It doesn't have showers, a workout area, or a relaxation room. But it does have luggage lockers and family-friendly areas.

Denver (DEN)

  • Opened: November 2023
  • Hours: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
  • Location: Concourse A, near Gate 34 Mezzanine Level

Denver is home to the largest Capital One Lounge so far, at an impressive 10,800 square feet. Capital One also reports that this lounge has its biggest bar. You'll find an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages there, including cocktails and the Sky High P.A., an IPA made by Capital One and Cerviceria Colorado.

Like the rest of the Capital One Lounges, this one has some of the best food you'll find in an airport. If you have time to spare, you can sit down for a meal from the dining stations. If not, the grab-and-go station is always well-stocked.

This lounge has seating and rooms for just about everyone. There are working spaces, family-friendly areas, and relaxation rooms. The latter even have ceilings that mimic Colorado's nighttime constellations, so it's almost like sleeping under the stars.

Other notable amenities include shower suites and phone booths, an interesting choice. There are no luggage lockers or workout areas.

Can you access Capital One Lounges without a Capital One credit card?

Yes, you can access Capital One Lounges without a Capital One credit card. The entry fee is $65 per person. Kids under 2 are welcome free of charge.

The entry fee is on the expensive side for an airport lounge. These are very nice lounges, so if you have a few hours to wait, the entry fee could be worth it. But if you fly regularly, consider getting a credit card with airport lounge access instead. If you live near an airport with a Capital One Lounge, then you may want to look at its travel cards first.

The only downside with Capital One Lounges is that there aren't more of them. The card issuer has done an excellent job of crafting comfortable and stylish spaces, with all the amenities travelers need.
