Although these two small business credit cards have a lot in common, there are some key differences, particularly for their rewards programs. They also have different welcome bonus offers.

Why Chase Ink Business Unlimited might be the ideal choice

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is designed for small businesses that don't spend excessively in the traditional business spending categories (like office supplies) and prefer a flat-rate rewards program. It offers 1.5% cash back on every purchasewith no limits (hence the name), and there's no need to worry about bonus categories.

Why Chase Ink Business Cash could be the better option

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is designed to produce the best rewards in the categories that matter most to small business owners. In addition to spending at office supply stores, the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card also offers its top (5%) cash back rate for spending on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services each account anniversary year.

It also offers a higher rewards rate of 2% on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and restaurants each account anniversary year, making it a good choice for business owners who drive for work or who regularly dine out while traveling or entertaining clients.

Chase Ink Business Unlimited vs. Chase Ink Business Cash comparison

Now that we've seen a high-level overview of both small business cards, let's take a closer look at how they compare in some of the areas that are most important to small business owners.

Chase Ink Business Unlimited vs. Chase Ink Business Cash annual fee

This is an easy comparison for these two Chase business cards. Both the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card and the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card have no annual fee. That's just one of several similarities between these two cards.

Winner: Tie

Chase Ink Business Unlimited vs. Chase Ink Business Cash welcome offer

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card and the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card both have strong welcome offers, but they differ in both the dollar amount and spending requirement.

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card has a $750 bonus cash back welcome offer after spending at least $6,000 on the card within 3 months of opening the account.

Meanwhile, the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card earns a bonus of up to $750 ($350 after spending $3,000 within the first three months and another $400 when spending a total of $6,000 within the first 6 months after account opening).

In a nutshell, the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card has a somewhat lower (but still generous) welcome bonus, but with six months to meet spending requirements, it can be easier for many small businesses to take advantage of. The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card's bonus is clearly the better option for businesses that plan to use the card for at least $2,000 in purchases per month.

Winner: Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card (if your business spending is enough to get it)

Chase Ink Business Unlimited vs. Chase Ink Business Cash intro APR

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card and the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card both have identical intro APR offers. Both cards have a 0% Intro APR on Purchases for the first 12 months, and both cards have no intro APR offer for balance transfers. (Note: Balance transfer offers aren't nearly as common with small business credit cards as they are with personal cards.)

Winner: Tie

Chase Ink Business Unlimited vs. Chase Ink Business Cash rewards

By far, the biggest difference between the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card and the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is the cash rewards program structure.

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is designed for small businesses who prefer to have a simplified, flat-rate rewards structure. It earns 1.5% cash back on every purchase, with no limits.

On the other hand, the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card has a more complex rewards structure, It earns 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services each account anniversary year. It earns 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and restaurants each account anniversary year. On all other purchases, the cash back rate is 1%.

If your business spends a lot in the categories the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card uses for bonus categories (many small businesses do), it can be the more lucrative rewards program. And a flat-rate 1.5% cash back structure isn't even the highest among flat-rate cards.

Winner: Ink Business Cash® Credit Card

Final take

These are both solid (and very similar) no-annual-fee business credit cards. The biggest differences are the welcome bonus and rewards structure, and the best fit for you depends on the spending volume and spending habits of your business.
