Up to 4 points per $1

The U.S. Bank Altitude® Go Visa Signature® Card earns:

  • 4X points per $1 on dining, takeout, and restaurant delivery
  • 2X points per $1 on groceries (excluding warehouse clubs and discount stores/supercenters) and grocery delivery, gas, EV charging, and streaming services
  • 1X points per $1 on other purchases

This card is made for consumers who spend a lot on dining, because 4X points in that category is as good as I've seen. The additional bonus categories are nice extras, but you could get 2% back or more in all those areas from other rewards credit cards.

No annual fee

If you're sticking to no annual fee credit cards, this one fits the bill. This type of card works well for consumers on a tight budget or who aren't big spenders.

0% intro APR for 12 billing cycles

This credit card offers an introductory APR of 0% for 12 billing cycles on purchases and balance transfers. Whether you want to pay off purchases over time or cut down credit card debt, this offer will help you save on credit card interest. Note that the 0% intro APR on balance transfers only applies to balance transfers made within 60 days of account opening. A balance transfer fee applies: Either 3% of the amount of each transfer or $5 minimum, whichever is greater.

After the intro period, the go-to 17.74% to 28.74% (Variable) APR applies. Try to pay off your entire balance before then so you don't get charged any interest going forward.

What could be improved

There isn't much to complain about with the U.S. Bank Altitude® Go Visa Signature® Card, but it has a small drawback.

Cash back redemption minimum

This card offers several ways to redeem points, including travel, gift cards, and cash back, and you get $0.01 per point with all of them. But there's a 2,500-point ($25) redemption minimum for cash back. Redemption minimums can be frustrating, and many cash back cards don't have them. If you'd rather avoid this, explore other credit card reviews to find one with more flexible redemption options.

Suggested credit score

We recommend that you have a FICO® Score of 670 or higher to apply for the U.S. Bank Altitude® Go Visa Signature® Card. Applicants who get approved for this card usually have good to excellent credit.

There are reports that U.S. Bank has denied some applicants, at least in part because of the number of credit cards they've gotten recently. If you've opened multiple credit cards within the past six months to a year, this is something to be aware of.

You eat out often and dining is one of your top two or three expenses each month.
