1.Motley Fool Tools
Motley Fool Tools are from The Motley Fool, LLC. Motley Fool Tools may be included as part of subscription services offered by The Motley Fool, LLC. From time to time, we may change the features, offerings and types of tools offered, but we will provide you with advance notice of any material changes.
Motley Fool Tools contains tools intended to help investors make decisions: These tools are not personalized investment advice and should not be considered, or used as such. Nor are we promising that by use of these tools and buying more stock as a result, you are sure to make more money.
They are designed to help assist investors in making their own portfolio decisions, and rely on factors such as historical data, the expertise of investors at The Motley Fool, algorithmic calculations, and investor’s inputs to produce the resulting data. These tools may malfunction, the premise upon which they are built may be inaccurate, our team may be wrong about the results that are displayed for members, and past performance is not a guarantee of future results. The Motley Fool investment team’s picks may be wrong, and investing in them, like making any investment, could result in loss.
All services and features provided by Motley Fool Tools are provided “AS IS.” The Fool assumes no responsibility for the timeliness or delivery of any content or the deletion or failure to store any personalized or customized settings.
The Motley Fool is not in the business of rendering personalized or individualized investment advice. We don't (and can't) know your financial situation, risk tolerances, or investing objectives- including inputs in these tools. Accordingly, the information provided along with the decisions made and actions taken in these Tools do not constitute a recommendation that a particular portfolio, framework, security, strategy or action taken is suitable for you, or any specific person for that matter.
The Motley Fool and the designers of these tools will not be liable for any investment decision you make, or action you take based upon reliance of any material you read here. The Motley Fool is a company of investors writing and designing tools for investors and as such, the writers (and/or the company) may own stocks mentioned in these Tools. For more information about writer disclosure, as well as a list of places where you can view stocks our writers and analysts own, see our disclosure policy.
An affiliate of The Motley Fool provides investment products that may hold securities mentioned in our publications or Tools. Editorial personnel have no nonpublic knowledge of the affiliate's holdings, and the affiliate's personnel have no knowledge of any editorial content or Tool outputs before it is published.
Simulator:
The Simulator is not a prediction of future stock performance and is instead intended to demonstrate the importance of diversification and long term holding when investing. It is based on historical data using Motley Fool Stock Advisor performance from March 31, 2002 - June 19, 2020, using an average portfolio from an average month during that time period.
The Simulator's data includes 14,271 possible distinct positions based on recommendations and date of investment. For the purposes of this simulation, each holding is weighted equally and held for a fixed period of time. The summary statistics show what an average portfolio from an average month would have returned, given the member selected parameters of portfolio size and holding period. It is intended to be updated quarterly to include new picks and performance dates.
Indicators:
The Indicators are a collection of metrics based on historical market factors that can help investors with their investment decisions. These metrics are generally based on publicly available data, but in some cases they may include proprietary data generated by The Motley Fool. While metrics like these can help inform investors about certain relationships in the market, please remember that no one indicator, metric, or tool is enough to base any investment decision on, and you should do your own research. Also, while we strive to keep these Indicators as up to date and accurate as possible, we do not guarantee they are timely or accurate, or even that they may be useful.
Stock Ranker:
Stock Ranker is a regular analysis done by the investing team to rate their confidence in the stocks within a service's universe of picks. They are ranked in terms of the team’s confidence in the pick’s potential success: gold, silver, or bronze. Within those categories, the stocks are ordered based on portfolio allocation. This analysis may lag current market conditions and may not reflect the current thinking of the team.
Allocator:
None of the information provided shall constitute personalized financial advice. All model portfolios are for educational purposes only. User inputs for investment time horizon and risk tolerance enable users to change Style Teams or see the models for other Styles at any time.
FoolPlan:
This tool is not personalized investment advice and should not be considered or used as such. Nor are we promising that by use of this tool, will you be able to make more money, preserve wealth, or otherwise. FoolPlan is designed to help assist investors in making their own financial decisions through a personal examination of their own finances and financial life.
